Dallas police on Friday arrested two men they said opened fire at one nightclub before leading officers on a chase and crashing into another nightclub
According to investigators, just before 3:30 a.m. off-duty officers heard gunshots coming from the Kalua nightclub parking lot in the 2400 block of Northwest Highway, near Harry Hines Boulevard.
At the scene they discovered two gunshot victims on the ground. One of the men suffered a shotgun blast to his head and the other was shot in the arm, police said.
Police identified and quickly located two male suspects, both 22, driving a silver Jaguar, but the suspects sped off when officers attempted a traffic stop, police said.
They said during the brief high-speed pursuit, the men tossed from the vehicle a shotgun believed to be the weapon used in the shooting.
Police said the suspect vehicle was unable to negotiate a T-shaped intersection at Spangler Road and crashed into the Spice nightclub.
The suspects were not harmed and police took them into custody.
Both shooting victims were hospitalized in serious condition.
Police said the shooting likely stemmed from an altercation inside Kalua that spilled into the parking lot.
