Mitt didn't find a way to fit with common people

LANSING, Mich. (WJBK) -

It's been almost a month since the election and most sensible folks are still trying to recover from not being bombarded with the images of Barack and the Mittser on the tube.  And now comes another post election story?

Yes, but don't flip over to the sport section just yet, cause this is a unique insight worth sharing even if you are sick and tired of this stuff.

The scene:  A room filled with about 100 educators.  Everyone with a college degree and interested in politics.  (O.K., so they aren't normal, but we digress.)

"Take out a piece of paper and a pencil (a command sure to retrogress everyone back to the second grade.)  Write down one sentence on why Mitt Romney did not win and when you are done pass them in."  (Now we are for sure in second grade.)

The group of high achievers launched into the assignment with the disclosure that they were helping to write one of next week's blogs on Mlive.com.

89 persons dutifully followed the instructions, so now this question to you.  What was the top answer? Mr. Romney lost because:
(A)         47% comment
(B)         Voters Were Afraid of Change
(C)         Latinos Deserted Him
(D)         Not Trustworthy
(E)         None of the above

Here's a sentence to fill the space so you can decide before you see the correct answer which turns out to be….the last letter.

And here's the interesting aspect. 49 out 89 persons said basically the same thing, "He didn't relate well to the common people."  Or "disconnected" or "inability to connect with all types of people."

A whopping 55% got it correct which leads you to ponder why the smarty pants researchers in the Romney camp could not uncover this before the vote and do something about it.
Turns out they knew and tried to solve it by putting the candidate in blue jeans…starched no less.  But at the end of the day, there was Mitt fumbling around to make the connection.  He got 48% but the other guy got more.
Thanks to the "second graders" who provided the content here.

Well lookie here. Schauer 45%. Snyder 43%. Now before all you Democrats start popping champagne corks, some sobering analysis of the numbers.

The I's have it. Here we go with the popular wisdom schtick again. It says that independent voters hold the key to the outcome in the race for governor.

About 75% of the school children across the country are already in school but not in Michigan, where the tourism industry has convinced lawmakers to delay the opening of school until after Labor Day.
