Thieves stole puppies worth thousands of dollars from a north Dallas pet store early Friday morning.
The burglary happened at about 3 a.m. at the Petland on Preston Road near Forest Lane.
Two men wearing hoodies broke in the front door and raided the kennels, taking Boston terriers, a Yorkie and a Shih Tzu. They left other dogs like a Dachshund behind.
General manager Chris Brauer said each of the eight stolen puppies was worth more than $1,000.
"Obviously they are not looking out for the wellbeing of the puppies. They're looking to sell to someone looking for a holiday present," he said.
Brauer is now hoping someone will call police if they come across a suspicious seller.
Less than two months ago expensive puppies were taken from other Petland stores in Frisco and Plano.
Police arrested 27-year-old Darrell Ramirez for the crimes and he is still in the Collin County jail. But his accomplice was never caught.
Investigators are reviewing those cases again.
