DALLAS -
Terrell police have completed their investigation into the death of middle school student Zusette Moreno and they do not believe she was assaulted.
Moreno's family claimed she was attacked by bullies at Furlough Middle School. She died at the hospital a few days later.
Although the school dismissed the claim as a rumor, other students and parents gathered in protest, calling for justice.
Police has since reviewed surveillance video and conducted interviews. They said they found no evidence that she had been attacked or wounded at school.
The Dallas County medical examiner also said there were no signs of trauma or physical abuse on her body.
Neither the Kaufman County District Attorney's Office nor the Texas Rangers would accept the case because there is no evidence of criminal behavior.
Moreno's cause of death is still undetermined.
