Man with rifle forces home evacuations

A Dallas SWAT team evacuated homes in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas after a man barricaded himself in a vehicle on Sunburst Drive and Edge Glen Drive.

Police say the man pulled up to a home with a rifle and was apparently intoxicated.

Two armored vehicles rolled into the neighborhood during negotiations.

A homeowner called officers, and after three hours later, police convinced the man to get out of the car without further incident, he was then taken into custody.
