Sunday morning a judge in Irving set bond at 500 thousand dollars for Dallas Cowboy Joshua Brent. Saturday Brent was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter in the death of Cowboys practice team player Jerry Brown. Police say Brent's car hit a curb and rolled on a service road of Highway 114.
Investigative documents released by Irving police Sunday indicate officers smelled alcohol on Brent's breath while conducting the investigation into the accident. The court documents indicate Brent admitted to officers he had consumed the alcohol at a club but refused to tell police the name of that club. Police did conduct a blood draw on Brent before he was booked into jail.
The Dallas Medical Examiner's Office says Brown died of blunt force trauma to the head and neck.
