Cold Weather Has Arrived !

Posted: Updated:

The cold front that has been promised to move across North Texas for the last several days has finally arrived.  It's presently kicking off some heavy showers and thunderstorms well east of the Metroplex, but here just simply brisk northerly winds.  Temperatures will continue to fall tonight as North Texas may finally see its first official freeze of the season.  However, I believe tomorrow night will be much colder as overnight lows fall into the upper teens to lower 20s by Tuesday morning.  Some light snow is still possible across the northern half of the region, but low level moisture is lacking and thus no accumulations are expected.  But don't be surprised if you see a few flurries late tonight and into the morning hours on Monday.  Once again, no accumulations are expected.  Afternoon highs will be in the 40s for the next couple of days until slightly moderating temperatures move back in by Wednesday and Thursday.  Don't forget to take care of your pets IF you leave them outside.
