A man was crushed inside a trash compactor in Fort Worth.

According to investigators, an unidentified man in his 40s was inside a large commercial trash receptacle in the area of E. Lancaster and N. Hughes avenues when the container was picked up by a trash truck and its contents compacted.

They said the truck's driver heard screaming and called 911.

Emergency responders performed CPR on the victim as they rushed him to a hospital.

The man was later pronounced dead.
