A prominent Dallas attorney is in a medically induced coma after being severely beaten. Now police and family members are asking for help in trying to figure out what happened.
Police said this past Friday, 39-year-old Damien Falgoust was found unconscious on Greenville Avenue north of Ross Avenue.
The lawyer who once worked on the Metro PCS IPO had met his kickball team at an Uptown bar that night. The bar manager said he left in a cab after midnight and then someone called 911 about him a little after 2 a.m.
It's still unclear what happened. Police said Falgoust's wallet and phone were still on him and there were no defensive wounds on his hands or arms.
His friends and family are just hoping someone can help point investigators in the right direction.
"What kind of coward would do this? I wanna know why you would do something to someone just walking home," said Roland Falgoust, the victim's father.
He said is son isn't doing very well. He isn't in danger of dying, but whoever attacked him caused brain damage. Doctors take him out of his medically induced coma occasionally to see if he'll respond to verbal commands and so far he hasn't.
"Can't squeeze fingers, doesn't do any of that. He's just laying there," Roland Falgoust said. "He's a very intelligent young man and I'm not saying that just because he's my son. He is and it breaks my heart because what identifies him is his intelligence and that's the area that's injured."
