Dogs attack hiding burglary suspect

Posted: Updated:
FORT WORTH, Texas -

A bizarre crime in Fort Worth left a burglary suspect injured after she tried to hide out in a dog house.

It happened in Fort Worth Friday morning. Homeowner Angela Moore said she woke up when she heard a window opening. She came out of her room and found a woman standing in the hallway.

Moore said the woman ran into a neighbor's yard and tried to hide in a dog house, but when that neighbor let his three dogs into the yard they attacked her.

"When I came around to shut the gate I had noticed they had gotten to her so I started pulling the dogs off her. Told her to get out of my backyard before the dogs could get back at her," said Jerry Gambino, Moore's neighbor.

The woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital in an unknown condition.

Fort Worth police said they've turned the case over to the U.S. Postal Inspector because the woman was allegedly stealing mail.
