One of the young victims, who was killed in the mass shooting in Newtown Connecticut, has family in North Texas.
Six-year-old Emilie Parker's uncle lives in the DFW area.
They are pictured together in Facebook images.
Parker's father said his daughter touched a lot of peoples' lives and had many special qualities.
"She always has something kind to say about anybody... the strength that she gave us and the example that she showed us is remarkable," said Robbie Parker. "She is an incredible person. I'm so blessed to be her dad."
Parker works in a Connecticut hospital.
He learned of the shootings as victims were brought in. It was only later that he discovered his daughter died.
And he has to try to explain Emilie's death to her 3 and 4 year old siblings.
