Parker County deputies are on the lookout for a thieving Grinch -- or maybe a pack of Grinches -- determined to ruin someone's Christmas.
Outdoor decorations on at least five homes in the Aledo area were stolen within the last two weeks, said Lt. Mark Arnett of the Parker County Sheriff's Office.
In each case, the thieves are taking wreaths, hung decorations, and lights right off the homes. Arnett said the blow-up decorations in the yards have not been targeted.
The affected homes are all within a few miles of each other: in the 300 block of West Gate, the 200 and 300 blocks of Howard Way, the 200 block of Mockingbird Lane, and the 100 block of Deer Creek Dr.
Arnett said some of the homes are in upscale neighborhoods, and a homeowner's security camera happened to capture a blonde woman in her 30s or 40s lifting a wreath from the front of the home. She got away in a light-colored pick-up truck.
"Usually it's kids messing with people," said Lt. Arnett. "It happens here and there, but it's very rarely that we get photographic evidence, especially of a suspect who looks like anyone's mom."
If you know anything about this suspect, please call the Parker County Sheriff's Office at 817-594-8845.
