DALLAS -
Four young man accused of setting a puppy on fire will face trial together, a Dallas County judge ruled Wednesday.
The four men are: Darius Ewing, 19; Richard Valentine, 25; Darius Carey, 25; and Adrian Ayers, 21.
Police and animal investigators say the four doused the pit bull mix with a flammable liquid and set the dog on fire this past April.
The puppy, later named "Justice," died a few days later after its burns became infected.
All four men are charged with cruelty to a non-livestock animal. Because Justice was set on fire, the charges are 3rd-degree felonies and each could spend two to 10 years in prison.
