Fort Worth police are looking for two people who hit an off-duty officer with their car.
The officer, who works for the Godley police department, was working as a security officer at a Walmart on the southwest side of Fort Worth.
Police say the suspects tried to drive away from the store after stealing items from it and that the officer was hurt while trying to arrest them:
"the officer became entangled with the vehicle somehow and the vehicle was in motion. The officer feared for his life and his safety, of course, and actually ended up firing multiple shots into the vehicle," said Fort Worth police officer Cliff Miller.
It is not clear if any of those shots hit the suspects.
They abandoned their vehicle and took off on foot.
The officer, whose foot was run over, is expected to recover.
