A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY remains in affect for the northern half of North Texas tonight. Even though most of the snow has now come to an end, subfreezing temperatures will be a problem on the roadways. We've already had numerous reports of accidents across the area due to the slippery conditions, as temperatures continue to drop. The worse problems appear to be on the bridges and the overpasses. 'Major' icing is not expected, but there will be many roads with patches of ice making travel almost very difficult. Stay home if at all possible and let the sand trucks do their work. if you must travel, slow down and do not hit the breaks on the bridges and overpasses. Temperatures will continue to be quite chilly as we near the end of 2012.
FYI. Officially, this is the first snowfall we've had on the ground on Christmas Day since 1975.
