Towing companies and auto body shops were busy, especially since many had fewer staff thanks to the holidays.
As temperatures plunge again into the 20s tonight, TxDOT and other city road crews fear the wet spots still left could freeze up again.
The best advice: go slowly, take extra time to get where you're going, and drive courteously. Be aware when you take bridges and overpasses, and don't jam on the breaks if you find yourself in a skid -- instead, try to gently steer into the direction of the skid to get traction.
