A fire destroyed 10 units at a condominium complex in Cobb County on Thursday afternoon.
The blaze broke out around 4:30 p.m. at the Willows by the River Condominiums off of Riverlook Parkway and Columns Drive.
Residents said they first noticed something was wrong when their cable TV went out. Some banged door-to-door to get everyone out.
"This guy came running to our door and knocked on it and told us that the building was on fire," said Paul Gonzalez, who was visiting his grandparents from Ohio.
Gonzalez said that his family had enough time to salvage some of their things.
"We got most of our pictures out and we got some valuables out and we got our suitcases out because we're visiting here," said Gonzalez.
Others weren't so lucky.
"I have all the footage from my wedding, my daughter's wedding, son's wedding, so I've lost all that footage. So a few things you can't replace," said homeowner Ken Ray.
The cause of the fire was not yet known. Firefighters believe it began in an upper level unit.
