After a cloudy and gloomy day across North Texas, temperatures stayed well below normal for this time of year. We only climbed to an afternoon reading of 42 degrees, which is quite chilly for the end of December. The strong disturbance that came across the region this morning, that gave us drizzle and fog, has now moved off to the east. Clear skies tonight will drop temperatures into the lower 20s with a brisk northerly wind. Look for mostly sunny skies on Saturday followed by an increase in clouds late Sunday. Afternoon temperatures will remain in the 40s throughout the weekend. A strong disturbance out west will give us a good chance of rain late Sunday night and into New Year's Eve. Some rain is still possible during the morning hours on New Year's Day. Stay tuned for further updates.
