A Georgia pet rescue group says somebody stole 40 of its dog crates, a setback that makes it harder for the group to show animals to potential adoptive families.
According to their Facebook page, Park Pet Haven Rescue in Dunwoody used the crates to show dogs at a local PetSmart store in hopes of adopting them. Dorease Shairrick, the rescue group's volunteer director, says the crates cost about $5,000 apiece and were stolen sometime in the last week.
She says the crates were kept behind a 9-foot chain-link fence behind the PetSmart store. The group is trying to borrow crates to put on a limited adoption show.
Meanwhile, Shairrick says the rescue group is accepting donations to help replace its stolen dog crates.
