Video from store released where officer was dragged

Fort Worth police arrested a driver they say dragged an officer and ran over his foot during a pursuit.

According to Sgt. Pedro Criado, a woman and two men were trying to steal a TV last week at a south Fort Worth Walmart.

Employees and an off-duty officer from Godley, who was working security, were watching the suspects on surveillance video.

The officer chased the trio into the parking lot, where the suspects sped away.

The officer was dragged a short distance by the fleeing SUV. He fired several rounds, grazing the suspected getaway driver, Anna Acosta.

"Just based on what investigators have told me about the trajectory, it was very fortunate that she didn't get seriously injured," said Criado.

Fort Worth police also arrested Christopher Davila, identifying him as one of the suspects caught on video.

Both Davila and Acosta are charge with aggravated assault on a public servant and evading arrest. Investigators are looking for the third suspect.

Godley's police chief says the injured officer suffered a broken bone on his foot, and is expected to be back at work later this week.
