Statistics are starting to come in from North Texas police departments' crackdown on drunk drivers over the recent holiday.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Department released the following numbers on arrests from Dec. 21, 2012 to Jan. 1, 2013, a twelve-day period:
According to the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office, the number of DWI arrests over the New Year's Eve/Day holiday were down. All of the police departments have not yet entered their data, but Melody McDonald, the public information officer for the Tarrant County D.A.'s office, says there has been a significant drop from last year.
The Plano Police Department reports 4 DWI arrests from Dec. 31, 2012 through Jan. 1, 2013.
