DALLAS -
A man who lived in a northeast Dallas home with his parents may have suffered a psychotic break and set fire to his own home overnight.
Firefighters responded to the 11400 block of Gatewood Drive, off Jupiter Road south of Northwest Highway, about 1:40 Thursday morning.
They found fire and smoke pouring from the back of the one-story frame house.
The parents who lived in the home say their son had been having mental issues all day, and he may have set the fire.
Dallas police got involved, helping escort the son to a psychiatric treatment facility. Detectives don't expect to charge him in the fire, but the investigation continues.
