Pedestrian killed crossing street in Haltom City

HALTOM CITY, Texas -

Police say a man was killed by car before dawn Thursday morning at a busy intersection in Haltom City.

The accident happened about 4:50 a.m. at the corner of Denton Highway and Broadway Avenue.

According to Cpl. Joe Hackfield, 26-year-old Dustin McCormack of Keller was crossing Denton Highway when he was struck by a Ford Fusion.

Witnesses say the car had the right of way and a green light.

McCormack was rushed to John Peter Smith Hospital, where he died of his injuries. The 47-year-old woman driving the car was not hurt.

Police don't expect to file any charges in this case.
