LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Library patrons in a suburban Atlanta county will find fewer best-sellers and new children's books this year if a proposed $1 million cut to the library system's budget is approved.
Gwinnett County Commissioners are set to consider the proposal on Thursday.
Library board chairman Phillip Saxton told county commissioners that the cut would have long-term consequences for the county just northeast of Atlanta.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (http://bit.ly/VwnPhh) that it would leave the library system with a materials budget of $2.3 million - down 30% from 2012.
