Store clerk scares off knife-wielding man

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

A would-be robber was thwarted by a store clerk in New Jersey.

A man carrying a kitchen knife demanded money from a clerk at Mac Deli on Broadway in Bayonne early Thursday morning, but the worker refused, according to police.

The clerk told reporters he approached the man to try to get the knife out of his hand but the man ran off.

Security video of the incident shows the man running away along West 52nd Street.

Bayonne Police are looking for the unsuccessful robber.
