College student from North Texas charged with murder

A North Texas native, who's a Texas Tech student, is accused of murder.

Lubbock police arrested 22 year old Mansfield native Austin Hasten and charged him with killing his neighbor.

The victim's body showed signs of trauma after it was pulled from an apartment fire.

Witnesses say Hasten appeared to be drunk, had blood on his hands, and attacked an officer at the scene.

Hasten was arrested two years ago on charges he drove drunk and assaulted a police officer.

He is jail and his bond is set at three million dollars.
