Emergency crews closed an intersection in McKinney Monday where a gas line was cut by a construction crew.
McKinney city officials said the leak was reported at about 10 a.m. after crews working with a backhoe struck an 8 inch natural gas line on the southeast corner of Sonebridge drive at Eldorado Parkway.
The intersection was closed for several hours until the line was safely capped.
The McKinney Fire Department was assisted by Atmos Energy and CoServe Energy.
Paramedics checked on residents of a nearby nursing home and children at a day care center. But, no one was hurt and no evacuations were needed.
