NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police on Long Island have arrested a teenager for allegedly threatening to kill his school's principal on Wednesday morning, authorities announced.

Nassau County detectives charged Joshua Barley, 18, of Garden City, with making a terroristic threat, a class-D felony.

He is accused of writing on the blackboard at Rosemary Kennedy Boces School in Wantagh that he wanted to "assassinate the principal and take over the school," police said.

Barley was set to be arraigned Thursday morning in Hempstead, police said.
