DALLAS -

Dallas police say a 36-year-old man was shot to death Wednesday night when he and an accomplice tried to break into someone's apartment.

Police believe the far North Dallas home invasion was drug-related.

The shooting happened about 8:25 p.m. at the McCallum Corners apartments in the 7700 block of McCallum Boulevard, near Coit Road south of Frankford Road.

Police recovered marijuana, a semi-automatic pistol, and nearly $2,000 in cash from the apartment.

The apartment resident who shot the invader will face a grand jury to decide if charges will be filed against him.
