The deadline is rapidly approaching for the city and the union that represents public school teachers to reach an agreement on a system for evaluating teachers.
The deadline for submitting the self-imposed evaluation system is Thursday.
Negotiations on the evaluation plan resumed last week between the city and the United Federation of Teachers for the first time since mid-December.
Missing the deadline would cost the city $250 million in state aid plus an additional $200 million in grants.
Each of New York State's 700 school districts was told to submit a teacher evaluation plan by January 17.
