CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Deshalone Williams, 18, the second person shot Monday night by a man who asked for a ride, died late Tuesday night, the Post-Tribune is reporting.

Williams was driving his friend Terrell Frazier, 21, about 10 p.m. when they stopped at a gas station at 15th Avenue and Clark Road in Gary. Ind.

There, witnesses said, Williams spoke to a man and shook his hand, then apparently agreed to give him a ride.

After traveling a few blocks north on Clark Road, the gunman asked to get out of the car. He then shot both Frazier and Williams in the head.

Frazier died about 6:40 a.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus.

Williams was pronounced dead there at 11:10 p.m. Tuesday, a spokesman for the Lake County Coroner's office said.

Gary police Detective Cpl. James Nielsen is investigating the homicides, and asks anyone with information to call (219) 881-4754.
