Forget textbooks. Some Dallas middle school students will get a chance to experience United States history in the making.
A class of eighth graders will go to Washington D.C. for the presidential inauguration.
The Dallas International School organized a four-day trip which includes the inauguration and a special inauguration ball for students.
Teachers said the trip will go hand-in-hand with things the kids are learning in school.
The students are just as excited about the amazing opportunity.
"I may not be an American, but it's something that I think only happens once in a lifetime. So it's big," said Mahaut Fournier, who moved to the country from France four years ago.
During the trip, the students will also visit the Smithsonian museums, Capitol Hill and the Arlington National Cemetery.
