MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (KMSP) -

Thirteen Maple Grove High School boys' hockey players have been suspended for a violation of the athletic code of conduct for an alleged incident at a private home in mid-December.

District 279 community relations director Barbara Olson issued the following statement to FOX 9:

Maple Grove Senior High School officials were informed on Monday, January 14, of an alleged incident that took place in mid-December at a private home and involved multiple student athletes.

School officials conducted a thorough investigation and consulted with the Minnesota State High School League and the Maple Grove Police Department.

School officials have completed their investigation and determined that there was a violation of the Minnesota State High School League Code of Conduct.

Due to data privacy laws, we cannot provide details of the incident, who was involved, or the specific consequences."

Maple Grove hockey coach Gary Stefano told the Star Tribune the players' suspensions range from two games to four games.

Maple Grove police say there is no criminal investigation into the incident at this time.

The team's six-game winning streak was ended by Blaine on Thursday night in a 5-2 rivalry rematch. The two teams faced off in the playoffs in each of the past two years.
