Two pedestrians both died early Friday after separate hit-and-run accidents in two different counties.
The first happened in the Johnson County community of Godley. About 1:30 a.m., the police department says someone found a woman's body on the side of the road.
Investigators believe the 49-year-old victim, whose name has not yet been released, was driving her pickup truck southbound on FM 2331 when she went off the road and rolled the truck.
Police say the victim was either ejected from the vehicle or managed to crawl out of the wreckage. Either way, when she made her way back to the roadway, she was struck and killed by another vehicle that left the scene.
Godley police are getting assistance from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office and the Department of Public Safety to solve the crime. It's not yet clear if alcohol may have been involved.
The second death happened about 6 a.m. in Dallas County.
Police were called to perform a "welfare check" of a man lying on the service road of westbound I-30 near Sylvan Avenue.
Investigators say the man was dead by the time they reached him. They believe he also had been struck by a car that left the scene.
It's not clear if anyone witnessed the accident.
