A 24-year-old Weatherford man was arrested for what the county sheriff is calling "a particularly brutal homicide."
Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler charged Nicolas David Camfield with killing another man with a pickaxe.
About 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, the sheriff's office got a call to check on the welfare of 24-year-old John Daniel Doss. The caller said Doss was missing and last seen with Camfield.
When deputies arrived at a home on Valley Meadows Drive in Springtown, where Camfield was house-sitting, they found Camfield sitting in the house, soaked in blood.
While searching the house, deputies found Doss's body in the master bedroom, covered with a blanket.
Deputies did not reveal a motive for the alleged murder. The Texas Rangers are helping with the investigation.
Camfield is charged with murder.
