PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona Game and Fish officials are going on the record as opposing a proposal to designate 43,400 acres of Prescott National Forest land as protected wilderness.
According to The Daily Courier, a letter from the Game and Fish Department says the agency doesn't want any more wilderness acres designated in the forest located in north-central Arizona.
The department cites concerns about prohibitions or restrictions on such things as structures for fish habitat, wildlife cameras and mechanical brush thinning.
