A former Haltom High teacher who allegedly had sex with at least four of her students and liked "young Hispanics kids" is facing charges.
Police in Haltom City said 39-year-old Tonya Flink had improper relations with multiple 17 to 18-year-old male students.
According to an arrest search warrant, she worked as a computer technology teacher at Haltom High School between 2007 and 2011, when the parents of a former student reported her involvement with their son.
The parents told investigators their son began dating Flink when he was a senior at the school and then he moved in with her after graduating. Phone records showed 850 calls between the two from Dec. 2010 to May 2011.
Investigators determined there were at least three other victims.
One former student said his relationship with Flink developed while she was helping him with his grades. It began as casual flirting and continued with his teacher "pushing herself on him," the warrant said.
The teen told investigators Flink said she loved him and that she liked "young Hispanic kids like him." She bought him clothes and other gifts and they did "everything you could imagine."
Flink was indicted by a Tarrant County grand jury in December. She was arrested and released on a $10,000 bond.
After resigning from her position at Haltom High in 2011, Flink reportedly worked at Amon Carter-Riverside High School in Fort Worth. Her current employment status is unknown.
