Dallas Stars set to open season

The Dallas Stars finally kick off their season Saturday night.

They will take on the Phoenix Coyotes at the American Airlines Center.

The NHL lockout led to the cancellation of roughly half of the regular season.

This shortened season will be 48 games long.

The NHL is offering some deals as a way to apologize to their fans.

For the next month, adults who buy one ticket can also pick up two free children's tickets.

Crews at the AAC transformed the floor after last night's Mavs game from hardwood to ice.
