One woman is auctioning off her rare 65-year-old Lincoln to help out a child in need.
5-year-old Ryder Page was born with cerebral palsy and also has a very rare form of muscular dystrophy; one that only affects 1 in 1 million people.
"Some people, when I tell them about my son, they say I'm sorry for you and I tell them I'm not sorry at all. He is one of the most incredible people I've ever known in my life and I'm honored that God blessed us with such an amazing child," said Kiralee Page, Ryder's mother.
Saturday a special car is going up on the auction block at Barrett-Jackson, and its proceeds are helping Ryder and other children like him.
"Ryder, even at 5-years-old, is a classic car nut, so for him to be here is a thrill of a lifetime for us," said Greg Page, Ryder's father. "It's such a blessing to give a little bit back and hopefully another kid can have the same opportunities to have a normal life as Ryder has."
It's a 1957 Continental Mark 11, Elvis had one of only 44 that were manufactured. Only two were in green and we have one of those two," said Karen Malta, auctioned car owner.
Karen met Ryder and his mother at the salon and she instantly fell in love with the family.
She and her husband decided to auction off their rare car to help Ryder and others like him.
"It's a love car, it's a 'helping pay it forward' car, it can bless a lot of people. It's gonna do a lot more good going through Barrett-Jackson than at home. We just want to make a difference," said Malta.
A portion of the proceeds from the auction will go the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
Karen and John Malta are hoping that the proceeds will make a huge difference in children's lives, just as Ryder has made a difference in theirs.
"Ryder's a hero. He's positive, he's happy and so are his parents and his little sister. They're just an inspiration to us and all people who have kids at children's hospital," said Malta. "He has just brought light into so many peoples lives, we're so touched by him every day."
