
Several people attending a car auction on Monday where hurt after the gas pedal got stuck on one of the vehicles in the sale.
The Dallas County Sheriff's Department said the accident happened around 10:30 a.m. during a Total Resource Auction sale in Wilmer.
One of the auction company's employees was driving a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee to the display area when the accelerator malfunctioned. The vehicle drove through an aluminum wall into the auction area, striking nine people.
Five people were taken to the hospital. Their injuries were not life threatening and ranged from soreness to fractures. Four others were treated at the scene for minor injuries, the sheriff's department said.
