School shootings have lawmakers and parents calling for more schools to have armed police officers on campus.
But that's not happening in Glendale. The city is removing officers who ran the DARE and GREAT programs from schools.
Hundreds of parents plan to attend the Glendale City Council meeting Tuesday night to plead their case, asking city council members and the police department to rethink their decision.
650 students of Challenge Charter School have written letters asking for the return of Officer Bud.
"He was very nice and he taught us a lot of things," says student Robert Gray. "So it's sad to see him go cause we're not going to get taught anything new."
Gray and his classmates miss Officer Bud, who patrolled the hallways and kept them safe, and taught them to stay away from gangs and to make good choices.
