Music icon Olivia Newton-John was in the valley Friday to launch the grand opening of a new wellness center.
Olivia was here not to talk about show biz -- but something else near and dear to her heart.
"Helping people who're already healthy find even more health. Finding their purpose," says Olivia.
Olivia and her husband, John Easterling, have teamed up with Trivita in the grand opening of a new wellness center, aiming to answer the age-old question…
"As you walk through the door there's a sign that says 'why are you here?' Which is amazing, because it makes you think about every aspect of that question."
Healthy living is a passion, and a big part of this couple's love story.
If you can believe it, John was collecting herbs, traveling through the Amazon rainforests, and Olivia was battling breast cancer.
"He sent me some of the supplements, and they really helped me get stronger and they were wonderful nutrition for my body, and I've been taking them ever since. So we stayed in touch as friends and then 5 years ago we reconnected and fell in love in the rainforest," says Olivia.
"She had a CD called Grace and Gratitude. And when I saw her perform that, there was a healing that moved through the audience. I wanted to introduce her to some of the healing in the rainforest, so that's how we ended up in the rainforest and we fell in love and here we are," says John.
At the Trivita Wellness Center, they're promoting a triple threat philosophy: mind, body and spiritual health.
On site, they have licensed professionals, audio and visual therapy and inspiration, health coaches, a fitness studio -- a basic road map to becoming your best you.
Relaxation pods are a quiet place to sit back and tune out the world, turn on your tunes and relax.
"It's set up for modern day wellness, which is what life is all about," says Olivia.
Just another day at the office with Olivia Newton-John.
The Trivita Wellness Center is in Scottsdale on Greenway and Hayden-Loop. The ribbon cutting is 6:30 p.m. Friday.
