KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas -
A tanker truck flipped over on Highway 80 near Forney Sunday night. It was loaded with 7,500 gallons of diesel fuel that began spilling onto the road.
A hazardous material team was called out to clean up the mess and pump the remaining fuel out of the tank. The westbound lanes of the road were closed for more than seven hours.
The driver was seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Police believe he lost control in a curve, ran off the road, and then flipped over.
