DALLAS -
Dallas police arrested a man in southeast Dallas early Monday morning after officers say he pointed a laser light at a police helicopter.
DPD's Air One helicopter was helping officers search for a suspect in another case about 4 a.m. when someone on Lake June Road in southeast Dallas pointed the green light at the chopper.
When a laser beam hits the Plexiglas of a windshield, it can split and refract, temporarily blinding the pilot.
The chopper's onboard video system helped officers track the exact point where the laser pointer came from. Officers on the ground arrested a man at a house in the 7000 block of Lake June Road.
He could face a Class-A misdemeanor for the charge.
