Police say the suspects were wearing costumes like these.
NORWICH, England -
Police in eastern England say a man walking home from a restaurant was attacked by a group of four people --- two of whom were dressed like Oompa Loompas.
The attack happened abut 3:20 a.m. last Thursday in Norwich, United Kingdom. Police say the victim had just left a kebab restaurant when the unusual group began beating him. He suffered a split lip, black eye, and numerous bruises.
The accused Oompa attackers had their faces painted orange, dyed green hair and white suspender pants, according to the Norfolk Eastern Daily Press.
Oompa Loompas are characters in Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and gained popular appeal through two movies based on the book.
Police arrested three people in the beating, but did not say whether they were in costume.
