Glendale sports events bring extra traffic, closures

Two Glendale sports events will create extra traffic and special closures on Thursday night.

Both the University of Phoenix Stadium and Arena will host simultaneous games on Thursday night.

Mexico and Denmark will face off at 8 p.m. at the University of Phoenix Stadium and the Coyotes will take on the Oilers, with the puck dropping at 7:30 p.m.

The Mexican National Team starts its 2013 U.S. Tour with its match against Denmark.

Soccer fans can get parking pricing, pre-purchase and a map at

Parking lots open at 2 p.m., the Fútbol Fiesta begins at 4 p.m., gates open at 6:30 p.m. and game kick off is at 8 p.m.

No tailgating is allowed in the stadium parking lots.

Coyotes ticket holders can get information on parking locations and fees at
Maryland Avenue between 93rd and 95th Avenues will be closed to public traffic, for pedestrians to safely move in the area. In addition, 99th Avenue between Glendale and Northern avenues will be closed.
The city of Glendale and ADOT are working together to ensure traffic flows smoothly during the stadium's events.
