Trooper fired over roadside search

Posted: Updated:
IRVING, Texas -

A state trooper involved in a bizarre roadside search of two women has lost her job.

The director of D.P.S. has decided to fire Trooper Kelley Helleson. She was called to search two women back in July after another trooper said he smelled marijuana on them during a traffic stop.

Helleson was ordered to give them a full body search with rubber gloves. The women claim Helleson did not change gloves between searches which were recorded on a D.P.S. dash camera.

Trooper Helleson can appeal the decision to fire her before it is finalized by the D.P.S. Director.
