Rookie officer arrested for public intoxication

FORT WORTH, Texas -

A Saginaw police officer is on leave after being arrested for public intoxication over the weekend.

The Saginaw police department said Andrew Peterson has been with the department just six months.

On Saturday night, someone called police from the Radisson Hotel at I-35W and Meacham Boulevard to report an intoxicated person.

Fort Worth police arrived and arrested Peterson on a public intoxication charge. An internal investigation is also underway.
