Masked gang robs man on Long Island

NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police on Long Island say five thugs wearing masks attacked and robbed a man who was walking down the street.

Nassau County Police say it happened about 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday in Elmont.

The 20-year-old victim was on 240th St. when he was approached by the mask-clad robbers.

One of them threw the victim to the ground.  The others grabbed the man's phone and wallet before running away.

The victim was not seriously hurt.

Detectives ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.Police say that all callers will remain anonymous.
