Greenville schools went on lockdown for a few hours Thursday morning while police searched for an armed burglary suspect.
Two suspects reportedly committed a burglary on Rabb Drive. One suspect was immediately taken into custody, but the second eluded police.
The school district said as a precaution, Bowie Elementary, Travis Elementary, the Greenville Sixth Grade Center and the Greenville High School were placed under external lockdown.
The lockdown was lifted around noon after police arrested the second suspect.
The district said the staff would remain extra vigilant on all campuses throughout the day.
